UNIGARANT REPLACES SOFTWARE SYSTEMS: IMPROVED EXTRANET FOR INTERMEDIARIES
Unigarant, a Dutch insurer specialized in property & casualty insurance products, has renewed their front and back office systems. Unigarant has also completely renewed and improved the extranet.
Most important changes are the real-time processing of entries by business partners and the fact that internal employees as well as business partners and consumers are working in the same system. All documentation is directly available to the end consumer. By replacing the complete software system both relations and employees of Unigarant are able to work faster and more efficiently. Transition to the new system, earlier this month, was performed quickly and smoothly. That was a fantastic achievement and a unique thing for such an extensive project, says Jan Hennekam, Unigarant’s CEO.
Unique project The transition to the new system enables Unigarant to continue its innovation process. Jan Hennekam: “We have created a solid base from where we can continue developing. Replacing all systems was the largest Unigarant-project ever and we have worked on it for nearly 5 years. Only two weekends were needed for conversion from the mainframe to the new system. Since the beginning of August we have been working with the system and apart from the usual and expected points of interest the system is solid.
Future proof renewing and developing All brokers and ANWB shops (Dutch Touring Club) have been informed in an early stage about the improved extranet. They have hardly noticed anything of the transition to the new system. Unigarant and ANWB have all together transferred millions of policies and relations and ten thousands of claims from the old to the new system.
Collaboration Quinity and Indivirtual Quinity and Indivirtual have built the new system. The standard insurance solution of Quinity (Utrecht) was chosen, which runs on IBM hardware and software. Together with Quinity, a large part of the new functionality has been developed. A win-win situation for both parties. In cooperation with Indivirtual the extranet was built. A part of the extranet consists of the insurance application of Quinity, the other part, which provides brokers with product information, has been developed by Indivirtual.
